WATCH YOUR AFFECTION FOR IT WILL ALWAYS CLING TO YOU

WATCH YOUR AFFECTION FOR IT WILL ALWAYS CLING TO YOU
”He also loved cursing, so it came to him; And he did not delight in blessing, so it was far from him. But he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, And it entered into his body like water And like oil into his bones. Let it be to him as a garment with which he covers himself, And for a belt with which he constantly girds himself.“
Psalms 109:17-19 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: Some years back, I got an understanding of this scripture and I could see why people pray a lot and nothing seems to change especially on my side of the world. In speaking and even raising prayer points, our affection is towards cursing. I am in a country where the cost of living has risen to an astronomical level. People talk about it on the news media but there hasn't been one person who has come out to curse the government or the public. They have neither blessed them because they are not as religious as we are. Somehow, with the strikes and demonstrations, the government is listening to the people and agreements are being reached that are making life easier a bit.
What happens is if you love cursing, curses will cling to you and find you. Likewise, if you love blessings, blessings will come near you. This is why Jesus said we should bless those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat us. Whatever you delight in doing will come to you and wrap you like a cloth. So, as much as it lies with you, make blessing a lifestyle.
Knowing this, let us start blessing our leaders and our country so that blessing will cling to us. It is not because they have done well but for our own good. Whatever we send out looks for us, locates us and clings to us.
PRAY: Dear Lord, Remove curses from my mind. Help my soul not to cleave to the dust in Jesus’ name.
