HOPE! HOPE!! HOPE!!!
March 24. Ruth ch 1-4
HOPE! HOPE!! HOPE!!!
”But not only that! We even take pride in our problems, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. This hope doesn’t put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.“
Romans 5:3-5 CEB
GOOD DAY: Today is what it is but it shall pass. The trouble of today is part of the experience that generates HOPE. HOPE has a foundation and that foundation is the problems of life. Without a challenge or problem, you cannot expect a turnaround. The turnaround that you are looking forward to is your hope. While waiting for hope to manifest, you need endurance. Endurance is your ability to hold onto your hope in a difficult situation without giving up or cracking up. When my children were growing up, I purposed that I would not send them to public schools. My business went down mid-way through and the pressure was great to change my purpose but I stood firm. The endurance developed the character of being prudent, hardworking and setting priorities. The character turned my purpose from just wishful thinking to hope. This hope never puts a person to shame. I was able to see my purpose and unspeakable joy filled my heart. Every hope starts from wishful thinking. We can see the promises of God in the Bible and wish we could enjoy them. Each promise comes with its challenges that will test your purpose. If you endure the challenge, it will build a godly character (or otherwise) in you that turns wishful thinking into hope. The way you handle the endurance period shows the kind of character that you will develop and where your hope will come from. Think about it.
PRAY Dear Lord and Father, I take my desire from Your word, please help me to stand by Your ways to build Your character in me that turns my desire into unfailing HOPE in Jesus’ name.
