STRANGERS HERE 2

February 15.      Numbers ch 13-15

STRANGERS ON EARTH 2

”we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.“

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD DAY: Every stranger looks forward to going home. A Yoruba proverb says “You return home after all your sojourn outside”. Paul looked forward and preferred to go back home to his Maker than to remain here but we prefer to be here and reject every thought of going home. A picture I saw online brought home-going of the soul called death out vividly. It is the lead picture of this talk today. This calls for us to watch our deeds. Material acquisitions on earth only end up being here on earth but how you acquired it goes with your soul to be judged. You must live to please God who will judge your soul when it leaves your body. No matter your religious inclination, always check if the motive for what you do is good or harmful to others. We all are blessed with a conscience; check with your conscience early before you silence it for too long and it stops talking to you. No matter how much money you donate to build worship centers, it never bribes God on the day your soul goes back home to be judged. Be alive to your soul and its state.

PRAY: Dear Lord, please make me conscious of my soul and its state so I will live to please You.
