HOW TO HOLD YOUR PEACE

November 5.   John ch 1-3

HOW TO HOLD YOUR PEACE AND STAND STILL.

‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭20:15‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

[15] and he said, “Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.

[17] You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:13‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

[13] But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.

GOOD DAY: There is nothing like sustained peace of mind. Apostle Paul said ““I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

He is trained in the secret of overcoming all things. It involves training to hold your peace and watch God fight for you. To have the peace of God is to have God with you. The way to the  peace of God is in Philippians 4:6-7. “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.”‭ ‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The peace of God is of the heart therefore it is the heart that is trained and not a physical exercise. The way to have God’s peace and sustain it is to train your heart in telling God every detail of your life without worrying. Worry is the act of your mind moving in different directions considering different things about a situation. It leaves your heart unstable and poisoned with fear and confusion. The mind has to be trained to stay on God. You do this first by being conscious of your thoughts. Then you decide what thoughts you dwell on. Any thought that gives you worry, anxiety, fear, hate and the like should be consciously avoided. Every thought bears fruit once processed in the mind whether consciously or unconsciously. Train your mind to reject thoughts that bear bad fruit and dwell on ones that bear the fruit of peace, joy and love.

When God says you should stand still, it means your thoughts should stand on Him and His word then You will see His salvation.

Today’s exercise: hold your thought on one promise or even name of God today.

PRAY: Dear Lord, it is challenging to train my mind but through Christ, I can do it. Help me Lord.
