SECRET TO HAPPINESS

So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable. ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

GOOD DAY: Someone sent a question that is fundamental to our being. He said "sister, how can someone be perpetually happy when things are not right with him at all?" First, there is no one who has things right as they want all the time neither is there anyone who has nothing right with him all the time. This implies that everybody must have his personal arsenal for coping with harsh times and still be happy. HAPPINESS IS DEFINED AS EMOTION OF FEELING GOOD. Happiness is controlled by what you focus upon. I asked the man what will make him happy and he said if he has more than enough money to meet all his needs, he will be happy. I asked him if he had ever had enough money before and he said yes. I then pointed him to what everyone should know. It is our scripture for meditation today. Everything that we can see or feel with our five senses are temporal, they can change or disappear anytime. If your focus is on them, then you experience a roller coaster effect of happiness and sadness. Temporal things are not worth being made the object of happiness.

God and things in the unseen spirit realm of God are the only eternal things. It is man’s duty therefore to study God, what He can give and things that are in His control. If you can practice focusing your attention on eternal things then you will be perpetually happy and the way to get temporal things will be open to you. Tomorrow, we shall talk about how to keep our focus on things that are in the unseen realm. For today however, do this exercise as often as you are made to worry.

🗣️ Tell yourself and whatever condition is troubling you that it is temporary and destined to change and it will change for the better. Call the matter troubling you by its name and tell it it must change for good and you are happy in anticipation of its change.
