FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT 

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 ESV

GOOD DAY. HAPPY MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. As we are beginning the end of the third quarter of the year, I want you to check how your fellowship with the Holy Spirit has been. Let us begin with what we know about fellowship. The dictionary meaning is: 

companionship, company. looking for the fellowship of friendly people. 

2.  community of interest, activity, feeling, or experience.

Fellowship involves a relationship. It is beyond living together. Two or more people can be living together without having any fellowship. They may not have any communication. When you are in fellowship with your fellow human, you communicate, feel each other, be there for each other and assist each other to be who you are capable of being. 

It is the same with the Holy Spirit. He says : “But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west.”

“teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””‭  ‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭20‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,””

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

These are some of the promises and manifestations to expect with the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit with those who believe in Him. 

How do I practice the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit? It is just as we do to our friend or persons with whom we share fellowship. You talk to Him, ask Him questions, seek His opinion and consider that you are doing things together. Express your love, appreciation and how much you value Him. If you feel offended by Him, say it to Him. He responds to your interactions in various ways. The first and preferred way for Him is to speak to your heart but our minds are too occupied by other things and people we fellowship with. He therefore talks to us through people and events in our lives. Sometimes He talks to us through dreams and nature. He finds His way to communicate with us. So check your fellowship with the Holy Spirit and consciously improve on it. 

PRAY: Dear Holy Spirit, I am sorry to have ignored you. Help me to relate actively with you henceforth.
