August 18. Jeremiah ch 19-21

THE BLESSINGS OF KNOWING AND HEARING GOD.

And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Exodus 33:14 ESV

The Lord said, “I will go with you and give you peace.” Exodus 33:14 CEV

GOOD DAY. We left on the note that we shall look at the blessings of knowing God and hearing Him. From the response I got from people on trusting God, it confirms that it takes a lot of spiritual energy and we are just like the saints of old who missed it or had their fears. Moses pleaded for God's presence with him and the children of Israel in their journey. God answered and promised him that His presence would go with them and He would give them rest. The first thing I experienced when I started becoming familiar with the word of God was deep inner peace. My soul had a rest from worries and thinking of how I would figure out the issues of my life. And trust me, those issues were many. I got to the point where I had this supreme invitation from Jesus.

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 CEV

With time, I discovered that what a person really needs in life is peace. It is not any tangible or material thing but peace, rest. No matter what life brings your way either 'good or bad', once you have peace you are blessed. A person who is poor and has peace is better than one who is very wealthy and has no peace. A sick and dying person with peace is better than a healthy person without peace. God actually asked us to pursue this one thing PEACE. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

Jesus also left His peace with us.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

John 14:27 NASB1995

Think of this first blessing today. Are you tired and heavily laden with troubles and uncertainties of the world? Does your mind keep running around seeking what to do in life? Then seek for the presence of God. He will give your soul rest and lead you to the solution to the problems. He will give you peace. Tomorrow, we take another blessing.
