YOU CAN OVERVOME FEAR

May 23.       Psalm ch 31-33

YOU CAN OVERCOME FEAR

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

John 8:31‭-‬32 NASB1995

GOOD DAY. Whoever overcomes fear is free in deed to live to the fullest. Fear binds and incapacitates. It sets a boundary and you cannot live or enjoy your life outside the cage that fear puts you in. I don't know what fears that you entertain now but you can be free. The underlying fear of all fears is the fear of death. Not just physical death of the body but death of any aspect of one's life. What truth makes one free? Jesus Christ says "I am the truth, the way and the life." John 14:6. Jesus is the truth that makes one free. Jesus came to live, die and resurrect to show man that death is not the end, the grave is not the end of man's story. There is life after death and that life is more glorious for whoever will believe. I remember the story of a girl who unknowingly became a prostitute to prevent her business from dying. She feared the unknown scenario of being poor and let her guards down on other areas of her life. The business eventually collapsed and she came for counseling after the pain and confusion was too much for her.

The fundamental truth is that THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH. Jesus has come to show us and give us that life. Secondly, we are to know and believe that life is a cycle of day and night.

While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”  Genesis 8:22 AMP. Just as you do not fear the night but expect day to come, then rest and get refreshed when night comes in life affairs. No one can stop winter and summer, rather we prepare for it. Learn to embrace the winter season of any aspect of your life just as you embrace the summer. In that way, your thoughts and emotions are constant no matter the condition that life throws at you. Job knew and applied this truth only after everything temporal in his life had been lost. He put it thus; “Naked (without possessions) I came [into this world] from my mother’s womb, And naked I will return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”  Job 1:21 AMP. The final chapters of Job shows his resurrected life so to say and it is more glorious than his beginning. If you can remain knowledgeable about cycles of life, you will be free to live in love attracting good things to your life rather than living in fear trying to prevent what you cannot stop and attracting more of them.

PRAY: Dear Lord, teach me how to handle day and night to live above fear.
