THE NATURAL AND THE SPIRITUAL

 

…while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 NASB1995

GOOD DAY. Yesterday, we laid the foundation of the dual nature in man namely the natural man and the spiritual man. The importance of knowing this is so that we can have peace and joy no matter what life throws at us. The natural man has the brain developed and whatever he cannot rationalize with the brain, he cannot appreciate. Everything natural is temporary so if your happiness depends on them, you will be on a roller coaster of emotions. Recently, NASA launched the Space X with some pomp and pageantry and people gathered to watch only for it to crash into the ocean a few minutes after take off. The people were disappointed, unhappy and frustrated. When your joy and peace depend on visible things, then you are most to be pitied. 

Like the natural man, the spirit man must be fed to grow. The food of the spirit man is the word of God.  …like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

1 Peter 2:2 NASB1995  You need to read and prayerfully meditate on the word of God to grow in understanding.  As you grow, the Spirit of God speaks to your spirit from your understanding of the word. The spirit world cannot be seen or rationalized with natural senses but everything we need to live our lives are there permanently. It is a matter of drawing them down and the bible says it is with joy that you will draw from the well of salvation. That is intangible and cannot be appreciated with the five senses. What cannot be counted does not exist to the natural man but what cannot be counted exists and is more real to the spirit man than what can be counted. Decide today where your focus will be. Natural or Spiritual.

PRAY: Dear Lord, I thank You because everything I need for a joy filled life is present in the spirit realm. Help me to cultivate my spiritual life so I will not lose heart.
