SPIRITUAL EXERCISE (3) LOVE YOUR ENEMY

“You have heard that it was said, You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who harass you so that you will be acting as children of your Father who is in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both the evil and the good and sends rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous.  Matthew 5:43‭-‬45 CEB

GOOD DAY: This is one spiritual exercise that is very difficult for anyone as a human being. I however see it as a great privilege when one becomes able to do it. This is because it is like God saying 'I want to come inside you.' It is God in man that can love his enemy and bless those who harass him. If doing it is easy for you, it means that God is inhabiting you and you have surrendered all control of your life to Him. 

You are allowing God to send the rain of His blessings to both the righteous and the unrighteous. Why would God do this? It is because anybody can be a useful instrument in His hand. Look at Saul who became Apostle Paul. He was persecuting believers but when converted, he preached the gospel to gentile nations and wrote most of the epistles. Also, if God was to number sins, none of us can stand. Psalm 130:3 therefore God loves us and even sent His Son Jesus to redeem us from sin and death.

 If you truly purpose to be spiritual, you will ask God for the great grace and power to allow Him live inside you and love your enemies. Remember: Above all, show sincere love to each other, because love brings about the forgiveness of many sins.   1 Peter 4:8 CEB

Let  Christ shine inside you. 

PRAY: Dear Lord, it is tough to love my enemies. Only Your Holy Spirit ine can do it. I ask that You have your way and help me to live (put your enemy's name) and wish him well in Jesus name.
