THE MAN IN CUBICLE 4

March 6.          1 Samuel ch 21-24

THE MAN IN CUBICLE 4

(When Christ was a stranger)

“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; … Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in,… ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’”‭    ‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭35‬-‭38‬, ‭40‬ ‭AMP‬‬

GOOD DAY. The man looked like in his mid sixties and full white. He sat in his cubicle 4 selling tickets to train commuters. I couldn’t see his face from where I was in the queue as I was consumed with having to pay full fare again because I lost my return ticket so I did not even look at anybody’s face. The station radio said “next to cubicle 4” and that was me. When I faced him, he smiled but I could only force a smile to say hello. Then he said “where are you going?” I said “Basingstoke” then he gave a broad smile and said “Return or single?” I said “single. Just that I lost my return ticket.” He said “what a shame!” He said the cost of the one way fare and I put my card. He punched 10p and I burst into tears. He smiled and said “It’s okay. It does happen.” I said “God bless you.” And he smiled broadly. This white man favored Jesus in me a black woman. That act of kindness is recorded for him as I gave thanks to God for that financial relief.

Now, how do you treat others whether you know them or not? How do you treat others when you have all the power to dole anything on them? If we can see God in others, will the way we treat them be different? If National Rail were to ask me to score the services of the man in cubicle 4, I will score him 10 out of 10. If he were to be a business person, I will patronise his business and tell others about it. This is how to your audience.

PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to treat others well no matter who they are.
