WHAT IS GOD SAYING?
February 11. Deuteronomy 12-15
WHAT IS GOD SAYING NOW? ESPECIALLY TO NIGERIA
“Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom (Nigeria or put your country); Give ear to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah. “What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats. When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courts? Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly. I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them. So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:10-20 NASB1995
“Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity And receive us graciously, That we may present the fruit of our lips. Assyria will not save us, We will not ride on horses; Nor will we say again, ‘Our god,’ To the work of our hands; For in You the orphan finds mercy.””
Hosea 14:1-3 NASB1995
THE COMMENT IS FROM A BELOVED CHILD OF GOD TO YESTERDAY’S DEVOTION.
Good morning, sister Bosede,
Thank God and thank you for today's devotion. One aspect I find most striking is this: God is definitely shouting to us in Nigeria as we are experiencing unprecedented pains. Instead of just groaning and complaining, we should ask ourselves this question: what is God saying to us in such a loud voice? May God open our inner ears and mind so that we can hear Him and respond accordingly. Amen.
Read the above bible passage and apply to Nigeria or your country and respond to God in your individual life. Let the cry to return to God go viral that is the only salvation from destruction we are drawing.
PRAY: Dear Lord, turn our ears and hearts to You in Jesus name.
