January 17. Exodus 15-18

PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE ENHANCERS

“All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.”‭ ‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭13‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD DAY. From my experience and those who have patiently waited to get their promise from God and have their wrongs redressed, the acceptance of the above scripture played an important role. They believed in ETERNAL EXISTENCE This formed the second foundation stone of their expectations. They agreed that it is possible for them not to have their wish fulfilled now but that does not affect their fundamental belief in God.

The first foundation stone that enhances patience and perseverance is that GOD REALLY EXISTS.

“And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.”‭ ‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬.

I got to this point of knowing that God is real through reading scriptures, reading books and autobiographies of past Christian’s and by observation from relating with God like I would with a person I can see.

The third foundation stone is knowing that God cannot lie.

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

God gave a vivid explanation of how His word works in this scripture:

““Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don't return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. That's how it is with my words. They don't return to me without doing everything I send them to do.””

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭CEV‬‬

So when you watch the rain water the soil and plants grow to fruition, then know that whatever God has told you will produce result no matter the appearance of things in the physical. How do you know that it is God speaking to you? God does not promise or say what He cannot do. His word is His bond.

The fourth foundation stone is that GOD LOVES YOU. Whatever God permits, it is out of love for man. I have learnt great lessons about living when God allows “adversity” to happen. At the moment of incidents that we consider adverse, we feel pain and discouragement but how long or deep these are depend on how familiar we are with God.

The fifth foundation is COMFORT.

“Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share this same comfort with others in trouble.”‭ ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭CEV‬‬

While waiting patiently, God gives us His comfort.

These are the five foundations which I also call the FIVE SPIRITUAL SENSES that we use to touch and feel God while persevering and patiently waiting for Him. Develop these senses and you will see that your perseverance and patience muscles become stronger.
