IMAGINATION IS SUBSTANCE OF FAITH

January 24.                       Leviticus ch 3-6

IMAGINATION ANCHOR FOR OR SUBSTANCE OF FAITH

“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Then the Lord took Abram outside and said, “Look at the sky and see if you can count the stars. That's how many descendants you will have.” Abram believed the Lord, so the Lord was pleased with him and accepted him.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭CEV‬‬

“Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!” Jesus told him, “You may go. Your eyes are healed because of your faith.” At once the man could see, and he went down the road with Jesus.”‭    ‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭51‬-‭52‬ ‭CEV‬‬

“The woman had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him in the crowd and barely touched his clothes. She had said to herself, “If I can just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” As soon as she touched them, her bleeding stopped, and she knew she was healed.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭27‬-‭29‬ ‭CEV‬‬

“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”‭    ‭Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭KJVAE‬‬

GOOD DAY. Is there a relationship between imagination and faith? YES. Imagination is the anchor or evidence of Faith. God made man through imagination. Genesis 1:27. God’s imagination anchored his design of man. God saw Himself and made an image of what He saw as Himself.

God was going to give an old man Abram children of his own. Abram would not believe so God took him out to count the stars. Hard as Abram tried, he could not count the stars so he imagined uncountable children even against hope. He believed. Genesis 15:5-6

Jesus asked the blind man what he wanted of Him. The blind man told Jesus what he wanted. He heard about Jesus and the miracles He was doing. He imagined himself seeing again through a miracle in His life by Jesus. Jesus asked him what he wanted and he spoke his imagination. Jesus healed him because of his faith. In fact He asked another blind man if he believed He could open his eyes.

The woman with the issue of blood heard about Jesus. Mark 5:27-29. She imagined she could be made whole again. She had even tried medical means for long and with all her resources. Then she heard about this man Jesus working miracles. She imagined He could make her whole too. She designed her miracle in her imagination. She struggled through the crowd in her weakness and contrary to the Jewish law for bleeding women and touched Jesus. I learnt a lot of practical lessons from this woman. Crowds of contrary things flood our minds. We have to hold on to our imagination in spite of this crowd.

In Genesis 11:6, God concluded His talk before He went down to confuse the language of the people so they would not build the Tower of Babel by saying nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do.

Space will not allow me to write more on people who got things by faith anchored on their imagination. They heard what God can do and imagined that He could give them what they too wanted. How and when God would do it was not their concern but they held on knowing He would do it. Without imagination, there is nothing to anchor faith on especially when you have to wait. We will discuss more tomorrow.

PRAY: Dear Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to You at all times.
