PRECIOUS MEMORIES

            PRECIOUS MEMORY

“The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.”‭    ‭Proverbs‬ ‭10‬:‭7‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD DAY. Today, the Lord wants to touch those whose loved ones have been called home to heaven. Seasons of festivities could be quite challenging but the Lord has compensated mankind with the gift of memory.

Memory is a powerful force that brings up how relating with our loved ones made us feel while they were here.

When we call the incidents to mind, we replay it in our hearts and feel exactly the same way again. An elderly woman next to me was going to sit moaning over Christmas because her husband of fifty years was not with her. I paid her a visit and I reminded her of how he used to mow our garden and made a peculiar joke of how my front flower was as tall as him and we laughed. She brought up other Christmas jokes they had together and we both laughed. By the time I was leaving her, she said 'they are really never gone just we can't feel them with our five senses but they are around in our memories'. Instead of being sad or dull, why don't you call to mind your time together and feel the feeling again? It is healthy. The memory of the righteous is blessed. Because this is not home, we must spend our time here leaving good memories in the hearts of our loved ones so we will have a place in their hearts once we go home.

Everyone is entitled to rejoice in the season of rejoicing for this is why Jesus came to show us that there is life beyond this life. While you are in this life, leave a blessed legacy that will linger and give joyful fellowship to loved ones left behind till we too become like them and see them as they are. Visit or call someone who you know is sad because of a loss and warm them up with good moments with their loved ones.

PRAY: Dear Lord, grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified in Jesus name.    Isaiah 61:3 NASB1995
