DECLUTTER YOUR MIND 2

DECLUTTER YOUR MIND 2
““For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”
Matthew 6:25-27 NASB1995
GOOD DAY. Thoughts are spiritual entities that have their characteristics. They speak to your soul and they hear your soul’s response. When you realize this, you will treat every thought like you will treat a person you can see and hold and relate with. You will also know the kind of thought you want to give space in your soul. Every thought that you allow in your mind calls for your attention. You either worry about them, or begin to work to figure out what you can do about them or begin to resent people or yourself and you develop many unwanted mental attitudes and unhealthy self image or on a good note, you are happy and proud of them you revel in them.
Write out each of these thoughts and note the feelings they inspire in you beside them.
The thoughts that leave you worrying, feeling bad towards yourself or others are toxic thoughts that need to be thrown out of your mind. Because thoughts are stubborn and keep coming back, you need to deal with each one. Own the thought and tell yourself and the thought what the bible says about such things. God Himself owns His thoughts for He says ‘“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”’
Jeremiah 29:11 NASB1995. If you have time, read the state of Israel when God said this to them in the whole chapter.
A young man offended me so much, it took the Holy Spirit to not retaliate but the thought kept coming back to mind. I owned the thought that I was hurt but I have forgiven the man and I have blessed him. When this thought refused to leave, I had to say to God that this thought is over to Him and He should do what is best for the man’s eternal good. At this the thought left my mind. Deal with each thought and see what you can do about them within the thoughts of God.
Jesus gave us what we should not worry about since we cannot add a second to our lives by worrying. All worrying and fears revolve around wanting to stay alive and have all the goods of this life yet we cannot do anything about times and seasons. Jesus gave us what we should center our thoughts around. It is the kingdom of God. If the kingdom of God is your central thought, all other thoughts that clutter your heart will be resolved and dropped off so you will have space for thoughts that will enhance the kingdom of God within and without you. When next a thought comes to your mind, see if it is a visitor you want to give space in your mind. Assess it with Philippians 4:8. See what good it can contribute to you and others around you and check if it enhances love, peace, joy and gives you a good report if it is exposed.
PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to treat each thought as guest in my spiritual space and know what it is worth for the kingdom of God.
