TRAIN YOUR IMAGINATION 3
(Sort Out The Catch)
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.”
Matthew 13:47-48 KJV
GOOD DAY. Did you do the Thought Catching Game yesterday? Look at the thoughts that you caught; how diverse are they? What feelings does each one trigger in you? Which ones came back most often throughout the day? Your mind is the kingdom of heaven that is the sea and your thoughts are the different kinds in that sea. The awareness is the net you are using to collect your thoughts.
Copy out this bubble of thoughts and fill them up. The next thing is for you to sit and sort the thoughts. Take each thought and see whether it is good or bad both for you and others. See whether the emotions it generates in you are good or bad. See the motive behind the thought. If the thought were visible to all, would it make you proud or ashamed? Analyze each thought on your list and see which thoughts you need to throw away and the ones you can keep. This exercise will show you who you really are for as a man thinks in his heart so is he. These thoughts shape your life.
The more aware you are of your thoughts, the easier it becomes to control them if you don't like what they make of your life. The more you practice this exercise, the easier, quicker and natural it becomes to do it and the easier it becomes to improve the quality of your inner world. Tomorrow, we shall learn how to do away with thoughts we don't like yet they are persistent and to go deep. As you become more aware of your thoughts, you are more aware of your mental state and you can gain back control of your life.
PRAY: Dear Lord, thank you for making me aware of who I am in my thoughts. Help me to sift and and change my thoughts to be who You want me to be.
