POSITIVE IMAGINATION

POTENT IMAGINATION FOR LASTING RESULT

“The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation.”      Psalms‬ ‭33:10-11‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD MORNING. The creative power of imagination works for anyone and everyone who is aware of it and perfects how to use it. This is the reason why christians run away from topics and practises of imagination when the bible expressly teaches that we should do it. Imagination does not necessarily need any special sitting position or chanting of some mantras. It does not even mean suspending thinking or emptying your mind. Christian meditation does not encourage an empty mind as any spirit will find its way in there. Meditation for the christian is focussing your attention and mind on a word or verse of scripture or precept of God to see it unfold and rooted in your mind.

For a potent imagination that yields lasting results, the christian has to base his imagination on a counsel of the Lord.

When other unrelated things come in to divert your attention, you write it down as noted and take your attention from it back to your meditation. By the time that happens a couple of times, all thoughts and matters standing around the corner of your mind for attention will end and you can listen to the verse or precept that you are considering. Whatever instructions God gives you while your focus is on the verse or precept, it is His counsel that will stand. If it takes time to manifest, wait for it. It is the lasting counsel and it will give you peace. This verse will open up to different people in different ways depending on the person's need.

So let's take this verse for example

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.      Psalms 46:1 NASB1995

In my time of meditation, I focus my mind on this verse when I need help. Instead of worrying about where my help will come from or who will help me or how will I do this etc, I just focus on this verse of scripture. Apart from making meditation a regular part of your day, anytime you are prone to worry, just choose to meditate.

PRAY: Dear Lord, teach my heart to meditate on Your precepts.
