KNOWING GOD'S WILL
October 6. Malachi ch 4 - Matthew 2
WILL OF MAN OR WILL OF GOD (2)
“Then He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and began to pray, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me — nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”” Luke 22:41-42 HCSB
GOOD DAY. Here we have an insight into Jesus asking for His will from the Father. His objective mind did not like the cross. He did not like the great suffering coming to Him to fulfil His mission on earth. Jesus had difficulty imagining His life without the cross. He went away by Himself to groan and pray. How do I know this? I had an experience like that before. Someone very close to me suddenly took ill and the doctor said that it was a 50/50 chance that he would survive it. I went away from friends by myself and I groaned. I prayed with all the promises of God and all my emotions and the person's goodness to people around him but it was like going the wrong way and I had no peace. After an hour, I became weak and said 'Lord Your will be done not mine but it is painful', then I had peace and started thanking God. A few hours after I stopped praying, he was called home.
Now how do you perceive that what you want to imagine is in alignment with God's will? First before writing the outcome that I want, I pray Psalm 19:14 which says 'May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.' Then I write down what I want and imagine it in my mind as fulfilled. If it becomes difficult to imagine, I have the first suspicion that it may not be God's will or time. I try again and again and if I get this feeling of a child struggling to resist being backed or sitting in a push chair then I know for sure that it is not God's will. However, if I have peace and the joy of fulfillment even when it is a difficult or impossible demand, then I know that it is God's will and it is done in the Spirit realm. I only have to wait for instructions if any to manifest it in the natural realm.
Each one of us has the way we feel when we are not in God’s will. Some say they have the feeling of putting the left foot in a right shoe. When you align with the will of God in your imagination, you have peace and deep joy.
PRAY: Dear Lord, keep me in Your will in my thoughts please.
