TODAY

September 21.                                        Amos ch 5-7

TODAY: THE DAY THAT NEVER ENDS

“I will tell the promise that the Lord made to me: “You are my son, because today I have become your father.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭CEV‬‬

And a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."”‭   ‭Mark‬ ‭1:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

GOOD DAY. The word TODAY came alive in my spirit regarding patiently waiting for fulfilment of God’s promise to someone. We have been discussing imagination and how you get to a point where your imagination of the promise of God to you becomes vivid and you have peace that passes all understanding in your heart. You know that you are aligned with the will of God yet there is a time lag or delay between this conviction and manifestation. What do you do? How do you keep your faith up so it won’t be a case of ‘hope differed making the heart sick’? Proverbs 13:12.

First I copy Abraham. I keep giving thanks to God while seeing my imagination fulfilled in the spirit and feeling it in my emotions. This is said of Abraham in a hopeless situation while waiting for the promise of a child.

“And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God,”‭     ‭Romans‬ ‭4:19-20‬ ‭ASV‬‬

Second, I learnt the deep meaning of TODAY in keeping hope and faith alive. In the scripture for meditation today, God promised Jesus that ``Today He God had become Jesus' father’ and the Today did not happen until the baptism of Jesus. So while waiting for the manifestation of the promise, I repeat the promise like “Today, I have peace with my family” with the joy I had when joy first filled my heart when I knew God had heard that prayer. This has kept my faith up and removed anxiety or weariness of heart at delayed fulfilment. Whatever day manifestation comes, it is TODAY. TODAY NEVER ENDS. It continues as long as we have life and there is a mystery about it that keeps expectation alive without being weary. Think of TODAY and see the power of it.

PRAY: Dear Lord, thank You for giving us today what we need for today.
